1881 British Census - Cotgrave
A Census of the population has been taken every ten years since 1801 except for 1941. Returns since 1841 show the names of each person staying at each address on census night. Census data is not made public for 100 years.While its purpose is to provide information to government for future planning, it also provides a resource for social and family history research. The 1881 census was taken for the night of 3/4 April and Cotgrave's returns are tabled below.
