Second day: Excursion through the district of Boqueixón. In the morning, a walk up the Pico Sacro, from where one can look out over the whole district and its surroundings, while enjoying the very beautiful countryside. Visit to the Chapel of Saint Sebastián and the church of Saint Laurence (San Lorenzo), 10th century, in A Granxa. In the afternoon, visit to the Gres islands where you can see an example of Romanesque civil architecture. To follow, we shall visit the waterfalls at Merza where we shall follow a walking route to see the care and consideration given to the natural environment in the area. Tuesday 21March Third day: Meeting in Camporrapado ( one of the 14 parishes that form the district of Boqueixón) where we shall discuss the timber industry and its derivatives, its importance for economic development and its environmental problems (treatment of waste, the large-scale cutting down of trees…). We shall take the opportunity to see the municipal depots and the local industries. Later we shall meet in the parish of Gastrar where we shall carry through an exercise similar to the previous one, taking on board the particular issues around cattle farming. We shall also be able to look at the workings of a rural co-operative when we visit the Co-operativa Agraria where the land in that location is put together and farmed on a co-operative basis. We shall look at alternative approaches to dairy farming on a visit to a farm for búfalas in this locality. Wednesday 22March Fourth day: We shall be shown the working and management of the Co-operativa Agraria located in the parish of Lestedo which has 270 members; this will allow us to resume the debate begun the day before. We shall look at the problems of mining with a visit to the quarries of Erinsa (an open-cast quartz mine). This will lead us in to a core debate since this is a problem which affects Cotgrave directly, given that its principal source of work and income was mining. We shall try to study the problems and solutions to them, considering how what kind of conversion might be achieved once the mining is exhausted. Thursday 23 March Fifth day: Meeting with the teachers and students of the Escuela de Capacitación Agraria ( School of Agricultural Management), a school for the training of farmers and for agricultural research. In the afternoon, discussion with the members of the Asociación Raíña Lupa about re-afforestation and forestry management, and in addition the conservation of local wildlife. There will be a presentation of the research of the Asociación. This derives from its considerable efforts towards raising the environmental awareness of the people, in for example, the setting up of Green Patrols to collect litter, the elimination of uncontrolled dumping, monitoring of water quality, etc. Friday 24 March Sixth Day: Visit to various places round about for the visiting delegation to get to know and understand more of the culture, traditions, customs and cuisine of our region. We shall go to Santiago de Compostela, where we can appreciate the beauty of the European Cultural Capital of the year 2000 and after we shall go on to the ‘Rías Baixas’. Saturday 25 March Seventh day: Development of a discussion in which each of the participants in the twinning will talk on his/her experiences of the week and the conclusions reached on the different themes dealt with in the discussions that have previously taken place. In the afternoon the farewell ceremony will take place with the participation of the local authority and representatives of community organisations of the district; at this juncture there will a presentation of gifts (?). Sunday 26 March Eighth day: Farewell to the Cotgrave delegation at the Lavacolla airport.
