It is free to join the library; all we need is one official form of identification which includes your name and address. A plastic library card entitles you to loan up to 12 items for 3 weeks.

As well as providing a wide variety of books (including large print), the library also provides:

  • Information about Notts County Council and the services they provide;
  • Information about local groups and events;
  • current newspapers and magazines;
  • local studies, including local newspaper cuttings dating back to the 1960s;
  • exhibition space (a charge may be made for this);
  • compact discs (hire charge 75p or £1.50) and cassettes (60p);
  • videos (general interest, feature films and children's titles)(90p);
  • spoken word cassettes (60p or 30p - exemptions do apply to this material).

Children can join at any age. Children's services include the free use of CD-ROM. Storytime for the under 5s (term time only) is on Friday 2.30 to 3.00pm.

The library now sells wallcharts and workbooks. The library can be hired by appropriate community groups in the evenings.
