Cotgrave has a range of local authority schools for children up to age 10/11, three are on one campus on Candleby Lane. There is also Ash Lea Special Needs School, serving a wide area in South Notts.

For secondary education, the main options are Dayncourt School in Radcliffe (school buses provided) or South Wolds School in Keyworth.

All the schools encourage visits by prospective pupils and their parents and will supply brochures for further information.

Cotgrave Infant and Nursery School provides quality education for the children between 3 and 7 years. Our nursery unit has 60 places and enables us to offer an excellent start to a child's education. This is maintained in the infant department. Our OFSTED report confirmed the many positive aspects of the school. Prospective parents are most welcome to visit.

The school benefits greatly by having an established parents' group - 'The Friends', who organise many social and fund raising activities during the year.

Manvers Junior School aims to create a happy, hard working atmosphere in which each child can strive to reach their full potential. Although we put emphasis on literacy and numeracy, we also strongly feel that sport, music and arts are important. Our children enjoy many sporting activities, both in school and as after school clubs. The teachers also run many other clubs for children who prefer the arts. We regularly run residentail visits to extend the school curriculum. We strive to achieve the very best for the children educationally, morally, spiritually and physically. The school is involved within the community and welcomes initiatives such as DARE.

Highfield Primary and Nursery School offers education for children from the age of 3 to 11 ensuring continuity and progression. The school aims to provide a secure, purposeful, caring environment in which children can grow and progress in every aspect of their development. We encourage and support all children in their efforts to ensure that they reach their full potential. Literacy, Numeracy and the teaching of Science are at the core of our teaching. We are fully committed to providing a broad and balanced curriculum with the Arts, Humanities, Religious Education, Sport and Music all playing an important role in our school life, through the daily curriculum and a variety of after school clubs. The children of Highfield enjoy many off-site visits and a wide variety of visitors to the school, who bring a variety of interesting experiences including drama and poetry. Ash Lea School opened in 1972 and has 50 students. Ash Lea is a special school designated to meet the needs of students with significant learning difficulties. Students come to the school from across the Rushcliffe area and also from the Clifton area of the City of Nottingham. The age range of the students is 3 to 19 years, and the school is divided into primary and secondary departments, with a post-16 unit for students between 16 and 19 years.

The school offers a variety of curriculum opportunities, plus an extensive programme of extra-curricular activities. Ash Leahas strong links with several of the schools in Cotgrave and with Dayncourt secondary school.

Dayncourt School is the designated secondary school for pupils aged 11 to 18 living in Cotgrave. Established in 1972, the school has excellent facilities and offers a full range of courses to GCSE and 'A'-level for its 900 students. Provision is made for pupils with special educational needs. There are close links between Dayncourt and its feeder schools in Cotgrave. Visits to the school by prospective pupils and their parents are encouraged.

The Dayncourt Association is the Parent & Teacher Association of the school, which raises funds to support the activities of pupils and to buy equipment which would not otherwise be provided. All parents and staff are automatically members of the Association. Contact the school office.

South Wolds opened in 1967 and now has about 1060 students, including 170 in the 6th form. It is housed in a group of well-equipped buildings in the centre of Keyworth. The school offers courses for GCSEs, 'A'-levels, 'AS'-levels and GNVQ. Specific provision is made for pupils with Special Needs and the school is adapted for use by people with a disability.

The school values the partnership which operates between pupils, staff, governors and parents. 'Friends of South Wolds School' organise several lively events each year.
